Department of Prosthetic Dentistry has begun work on the basis of the order of Ministry of Health of the Kazakh SSR №203 from 05.20.62 year. Leaders of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry was charged Usmanova Rashidа Sabirovna – chief dentist Alma-Ata, the chief doctor of the 1st city dental clinic, arrived in Almaty after the Dental Institute in Leningrad.
Department of Prosthetic Dentistry is organized in accordance with the order of the rector KazNMU named S.D. Asfendiyarov, professor A.A. Akanov the union of two modules: propedeutics prosthetic dentistry and prosthetic dentistry. Head of the Department was appointed doctor of medical sciences, Altynbekov Kubeysin Duysenbaevich (order number 542 dated February 4, 2015).
Human resources: regular staff – 21, of them 1 – d.m.s., professors, 1 – doctor of medical sciences, 1 – c.m.s., professor, 5 – c.m.s., associate professors, 3 – c.m.s., assistant, 7 – assistant 2 – senior laboratory assistant, 1 – laboratory assistant, steppe formation of department – 61%. Faculty and Staff departments of orthopedic stomatology are performed lectures, practical classes in prosthetic dentistry for students 2, 3, 4, 5 courses.
Research Project of the Department: “Development and implementation of innovative technologies and dental materials of domestic production.” Faculty are actively involved in the implementation of the NTP through Ministry of Education and Science on the topic: “Innovative methods of diagnosis and treatment of various orthopedic defects dentition.” Faculty and Staff department participated in international scientific and practical conferences and abroad – Sweden, Turkey, Germany, Slovenia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Tatarstan. Annually, there are workshops on topical issues in the field of prosthetic dentistry using innovative technologies. Employees of the department developed dental alloys Stomet-1kz, Stomet-2kz. There are 6 acts implementation of the learning process and practical health, received 5 innovation patents, issued at the kazakh and russian textbooks.
Faculty and Staff of the department, together with the students make a worthy contribution to the provision of dental care to residents of Almaty: advice leading professors, associate professors and assistant orthopedic dental care residents of Almaty. The department provides dental care for orthopedic patients with defects in the maxillofacial region.
